After completing our in-class TEFL course in Buenos Aires, you’ll have an internationally accredited certificate that will enable you to fulfill your dream to teach English anywhere in the world.

Will I be getting a teaching job?

That’s entirely up to you! This TEFL program includes job workshops to help you find a job teaching in Buenos Aires upon completion of your TEFL. You’ll be connected to a network of language centres, schools and other businesses looking for English language teachers.

You aren’t forced to take any particular job and are welcome to explore your own employment opportunities elsewhere also. 90% of participants in our TEFL go on to be employed in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas. The remaining 10% choose to travel and get to know South America before settling down in one country.

What are the TEFL hours?

A regular day in your TEFL Course will look something like this:

Generally, after 16:00 you could start preparation for the following day’s lesson or work on an assignment. You may need to work hard on the course with some long days throughout, but you’ll have plenty of support from the tutors, staff and your fellow trainees.

Teaching practice days are a little bit different, with your day starting at around 10am and ending in the evening at around 8pm.

The reason for these hours is that you’ll be teaching real-life ESL learners (under supervision), who often take these lessons after their daily activities (school, work, etc.).

Living Environment

How does accommodation work?

Our in-country partners provide an accommodation option for an additional fee. This is student accommodation that will cover you for 28 nights (the full length of your TEFL course) and will give you the opportunity to share a space with local and foreign students. Accommodation at this student residence includes:

  • Free access to kitchen areas for meal preparation and food storage
  • Free Wi-Fi access
  • Access to student common area

Spacious area out in the open where you can relax in the sun or shade, lay on a hammock and hang out with friends.

If you would prefer to look for your own independent accommodation, you should feel free to do so.

Monthly rent in Buenos Aires can be quite varied, but the costs are usually between $400$800. If you would like to pursue this option, we recommend checking out what’s available through AirBnB!

How much will rent cost?

Through our partners, your accommodation (and all its inclusions) comes out to be $750 per month. Independent accommodation is around $400$800 per month.

Will I be living with someone?

At the student residence, you’ll be sharing a room with another student. If you want to look for your own accommodation, this will depend on your budget and preferences.

What accommodation can I expect to have?

Accommodation in Buenos Aires is fairly similar to what you can find in any major western city and will vary from place to place. Rooms, apartments and residencies are usually comfortable and modern, with everything you need in terms of bedroom and bathroom amenities.

If you choose our housing optional package, your Student House will be as follows:

The house has 3 floors and is located in the neighborhood or “barrio” of San Cristobal. The building is very beautiful and has been completely remodeled from the inside to allow for the most comfortable stay in Buenos Aires.

On the first and second floor you will find the bedrooms (privates and shared 4 / doubles) each room has its own bed and desk. The bathrooms are shared as well (separate men from women) and very spacious.

On the 3rd floor you will find the kitchen where you can cook if you like and also have your own space on the shelf and in the refrigerator to store your food.

The 4th floor (terrace) is a very spacious area out in the open where you can relax in the sun or shade, lay on a hammock and hang out with friends.

  • Food: Food is not included but use of the kitchen is allowed.
  • Phone calls and phone use: Most students buy local pre-paid phone cards and/or rent a cellular phone. Public telephones are if available in local locutorios.
  • Laundry service: You should have your clothes washed at an affordable local wash-and-fold service. Laundry services can be found in your neighborhood, usually only blocks away from the house. You will also be given a set of 2 towels. Each set will be washed once a week. Sheets will be washed once a week.
  • Common Areas: Please respect the house and its property. You may use the common areas, but please leave the areas as you found them.
