Terms and Conditions

(a) Introduction

  1. These terms and conditions apply to the use of all websites and social media accounts owned and operated by Travelbud Holdings (Pty) Ltd (‘Travelbud’), and to all programs offered by Travelbud on https://travelbud.com (‘website’).

  3. By using Travelbud’s website and/or registering for any of the programs offered by Travelbud, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

(b) Programs offered by Travelbud

  1. Travelbud offers a range of travel programs located in various parts of the world.  These include, but are not limited to, educational programs, volunteering programs and teach abroad programs.  
  2. Travelbud offers the aforesaid programs through selected partner organizations.  When you register for any of these programs you will be required to agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the applicable organization, which terms and conditions will be supplied to you in advance.  
  3. Travelbud cannot guarantee the availability of the programs we offer, but we do undertake to do our best to keep you updated as to program availability.
  4. The teach abroad programs offered by Travelbud are subject to you being eligible for registration based on your nationality and/or level of education or academic qualification.  The eligibility requirements for each of these programs are indicated on their respective program pages, hosted on our website.
  5. In cases where we advertise “guaranteed placement” or words to a similar effect, this is subject to you (as applicant) fulfilling all of the requirements for the particular program offered. If you do not fulfill the requirements you are not guaranteed a placement on any of our programs.
  6. Please note that for our Japan non-degree program, the decision to hire you will be in the hands of the school in Japan. If you do not pass the interview round, we will be able to offer you an alternative position in another program for which you qualify. The enrollment fee is non-refundable, but can be transferred to start another program.

(c) Pricing and payment

  1. The prices for all programs offered by Travelbud are indicated on our website, and priced in United States Dollars (‘USD’) as a base currency.  For ease of reference, the approximate rate of exchange to British Pounds, Euros, Canadian Dollars, Australian Dollars, New Zealand Dollars and South African Rands is also reflected as indicative pricing, which pricing is subject to change based on currency fluctuations.
  2. When you select to register for a program you will receive an invoice reflecting the amount owing for the program, either in USD or, if you are in South Africa, reflected in South African Rands at the applicable rate of exchange on the day that the invoice is rendered.
  3. Unless otherwise stated, the fees payable for programs do not cover any other associated costs, including but not limited to, flights, insurance, accommodation, transport, food, medical or entertainment costs.  These additional costs will be for your own account.
  4. Certain programs require the payment of a deposit, and thereafter subsequent payment(s) prior to the commencement of the program, which will comprise the total fee for the program, as reflected on our website.
  5. Additional fees may be charged should you wish to change the intake and/or program you originally enrolled in 12 weeks or less prior to your intake date.
  6. The “bring a friend discount” is subject to both/all parties paying their final program fees.
  7. Payment may be made via Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit and/or debit cards, or by electronic transfer into the account details reflected on your invoice.
  8. All credit card and debit card transactions will be acquired for Travelbud by Paypal Pte Ltd (‘PayPal’).  You may view PayPal’s terms and conditions here.
  9. Travelbud does not store any of your credit or debit card details.  We do store some of your personal information, subject to our privacy policy that is set out below.
  10. Please note that promotional offers and discounts cannot be combined. The highest applicable discount will be applied to your program fees.

(d) Refunds

  1. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have comprehensive travel insurance which covers you for any eventuality, including but not limited to the cancellation of any of our programs for any reason, including COVID-19 or any similar pandemic.
  2. All program fees, including enrollment payments, for all TESOL/TEFL courses and programs, are non-refundable.
  3. We have implemented a policy pertaining to COVID-19 which is accessible here.

(e) Privacy policy 

  1. Please review our privacy policy updated as at 25 May 2018 in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’).

(f) No liability

  1. Travelbud accepts no liability whatsoever for any losses of any kind which may be sustained by any person participating in any one of the programs offered by it. This includes, but is not limited to: loss or damage to personal property, losses relating to injury or death, losses relating to the cancellation or amendment of travel reservations of any kind and the denial or delay of the issuance of visas.

(g) General

  1. The website and these terms and conditions are governed by South African law, and any dispute arising in connection with the website and/or these terms and conditions is subject to South African law, and is to be determined by a court with jurisdiction in South Africa. Travelbud’s chosen address for the service of any notices or legal proceedings is: 4a Vine Street, Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa, 8001.
  2. Travelbud may in its sole discretion vary any of these terms and conditions, without prior notice.
