Don't be arrogant. Arrogance is a bane on most society, you are not special you are not the best thing Thailand has seen and if you think you are you're gonna have a bad time.
Learn Thai and make friends with the teachers at your school. The relationships you develop through this will add great value to your experience.

Forget everything you think you know! All the preparation in the world cannot prepare you for what you are about to experience.
Take it as it comes day by day
Every now and then, stop and try look at the streets and surrounds with the perspective of when you just arrived, if it hasn’t been too long since last doing this, you can keep jumping back and reap a little of the initial excitement to spice things up a bit. Routine is killer or you wouldn’t be here
